"Serious Authors Start Here: Summary + Prologue First”

Most authors write their summary and prologue after the book.
That’s exactly why they get stuck halfway.
Here’s the thing — your book summary and prologue are not finishing touches.
They’re your navigation system.
A strong summary forces you to answer the toughest questions upfront:
– What is this book really about?
– Who am I writing for?
– What transformation am I promising?
– What journey will the reader go through?
When you can express your entire book in 5–6 sentences, you don’t just gain clarity…
you gain momentum.
A thoughtful prologue works differently.
It sets the tone, mood, and emotional doorway for the reader and for you.
It gives you a starting point that keeps the writing grounded, focused, and purposeful.
Think of both as your book’s lead magnet.
If these two pieces don’t hook someone instantly, no chapter will.
Write them early.
Refine them often.
And let them guide the entire writing journey.
If you’re stuck on your summary or prologue, drop a comment — I can help you shape it.
